Prof. S. Jithender Kumar Niak is a distinguished academician and researcher in the field of Toxicology with a three decades of teaching and research experience. Born on 28th July 1970 in Bhongiri, Nalgonda district, Telanagna and completed his education from primary to under graduationat Bhongiri and earned his Master’s in Zoology withEnvironmental Biology and Toxicology as specialization in 1992 from Osmania University followed by an M.Phil degree in Animal Sciences from Hyderabad Central University obtained Ph.D in Zoology in 2001 from Osmania University.
Mr. Naik started his career as Assistant Professor at Osmania University in 1997, elevated to Associate Professor in 2004, Professor in 2010 and Senior Professor in 2020. With a prolific academic and research experience so far 18 Ph.D’s were awarded under his able guidance with 85 publications in National and International journals with more than 350 citations and a notable “h” index of 10. His academic contribution includes the presentation of more than 130 papers in various conferences. He authored 14 books and 2 chapters in an International publishing book series. He alsocompleted 5 major research projects funded by various funding agencies and possessing 2 patents to his credit.
In addition to his teaching and research accomplishment Prof. Naik has held several administrative positions at O.U. He served as Principal from 2019-2021, Vice-Principal from 2016-2019 for University College of Science, Osmania University. Head, Department of Zoology, Chairperson, Board of Studies, Academic Co-Ordinator at PG College of Science, Saifabad and WomensCollege Koti, NSS programme officer at PG College of Science, Saifabad, presently he is holding the position of Officer of Special Duty (OSD) to Vice-Chancellor, O.U. from November, 2024 to till date.
